There are steamy romantic scenes places haphazardly between nail-biting action and moments of extreme anxiety. I liked getting to know Dawson though, and the ending almost killed me.While Obsidian was quirky and fun and Onyx was hilarious with a dark edge, Opal is quite angst-ridden and disjointed. This book wasn't as compelling as the previous two, and I was a little disappointed at the lack of character development for both Katy and Daemon.
